  • LAWRENCE ANDELSMAN, ESQ. <span>CEO, Andelsman Law</span>



    Lawrence Andelsman, Esq., is the founder of Andelsman Law, a boutique law firm dedicated to representing lenders, developers, and investors in a wide variety of real estate transactions. Throughout his career, Mr. Andelsman has successfully closed thousands of private lending and real estate investor transactions across New York City’s five boroughs, Long Island and New Jersey. His practice is known for its intimate knowledge of the market for one-to-four family residential properties, which is built on Mr. Andelsman’s 25+ years of personal experience as a real estate investor and attorney.

    Mr. Andelsman founded the practice in 1994, on the heels of graduation from Hofstra University Law School and admission to the New York State Bar. He got his start in real estate by handling residential real estate transactions. He went on to leverage his expertise to provide legal and business counsel to private and commercial lenders, builders, and investors. From 1999 to 2005, Mr. Andelsman served as outside general counsel and closing attorney for one of the largest real estate investors in New York City. Mr. Andelsman handled thousands of fix and flip transactions, ground up construction and condominium conversions. He also served and advised on all aspects of the business including acquisition, financing, construction and sales.

    During this time he also gained a skilled understanding of hard money lending, also known as private money lending. He has handled thousands of private lending transactions and has represented and currently represents some of the largest private lenders in the New York/New Jersey area. Mr. Andelsman has carried his expertise in private lending transactions nationwide expanding his lender representation for transactions throughout the country.

    Beyond the firm, Mr. Andelsman is an experienced real estate investor and developer. This first-hand real estate experience underscores Mr. Andelsman’s ability to anticipate client needs and provide unparalleled attention to detail throughout every step of the transaction process.

    Audra Hornig served as an Senior Associate in the Bronx DA’s office where she prosecuted high level felons for eight years. Subsequently, she served as General and Compliance Counsel for some of New York’s largest Mortgage Lenders. She oversaw all legal matters and was responsible for all areas of compliance, including writing and implementing compliant Dodd Frank policies and procedures. Ms. Hornig was responsible for federal and state banking audits, as well as training and licensing loan originators.

    After honing her skills for 16 years working in compliance, Ms. Hornig departed the residential mortgage industry and joined the Law Offices of Lawrence Andelsman, P.C. as a senior associate. Ms. Hornig handles private and commercial lending transactions for the firm. She also provides general counsel to private and non-bank lenders in the areas of compliance, regulation and general corporate matters.

    Ms. Hornig graduated from George Washington University in 1990 and Brooklyn Law School in 1993. She is a member of both New York and New Jersey Bar Associations.

    Mr. Bommarito has been representing individuals, contractors, developers and lenders in real estate transactions for over 20 years. Mr. Bommarito’s practice areas include all aspects of commercial and residential real estate transactions with a focus on complex agreements and lending transactions. He also represents individuals and small business owners with respect to the acquisition, sale, formation and organization of their businesses and corporate entities.

    Mr. Bommarito’s experience as both an attorney and real estate investor allows him to fully understand the challenges that his clients face and to prepare them in advance for any issues that may arise to ensure a smooth and successful transaction.

    Mr. Bommarito graduated from New York University in 1997 and from New York Law School in 2000. He is a member of both New York and New Jersey Bar Associations.

    Vera is the office manager and a seasoned paralegal with more than 30 years experience handling all aspects of real estate and lending transactions. Vera is well recognized for her expertise with complex title issues, foreclosures and short sales. She has attended and closed thousands of residential, commercial and lender transactions. Her attention to detail and responsive and helpful nature has allowed her to establish and foster relationships with clients as well as within the real estate and institutional lending communities.

    Amy Andelsman began her career at Ernst and Young’s Personal Financial Consulting national office located in New York City. Amy served as a senior financial planning counselor responsible for providing financial and retirement planning education to employees of Ernst and Young’s large national corporate clients. Amy provided on site education utilizing Ernst and Young’s proprietary software through one-on-one counseling and company-wide seminars. After honing her skills in accounting and financial services, Amy served as controller and portfolio manager for Best Homes Direct a real estate investment and development company in New York City. Amy oversaw all aspects of development and operations including accounting, finance, construction, asset management, risk analysis and property management.

    Amy’s management of financial operations includes firmwide accounting operations, financial planning, and financial reporting and analysis. As a member of the firm’s senior leadership team, her primary objective is to support the achievement of the firm’s strategic plans, profitable growth, and operations. Amy has over 15 years of law firm management experience.

    Amy graduated from George Washington University with a BBA in International Finance in 1990 and earned her MBA in Accounting at Fordham University in 1997.
